The Certificate of Payables lists the bills the Northfield Township Road District proposes to pay each month. Each certificate is posted here before the Board of Town Trustees meets, so the public and the Board can review it, and the signed version is posted after the Board acts. Past certificates stay on this page.

How each certificate works

  1. Posted before the meeting. The Highway Commissioner posts the proposed certificate ahead of the Board’s regular meeting, held the second Tuesday of each month. It is marked “Proposed, for audit by the Board.” No payment is authorized by posting.
  2. Audited by the Board. Under the Illinois Highway Code, the Road District Treasurer pays claims only after the Board of Town Trustees has audited them (605 ILCS 5/6-205).
  3. Signed. The signed certificate carries the signatures of the Highway Commissioner, the Road District Treasurer (Township Supervisor), each Auditor (Township Trustee), and the Road District Clerk (Township Clerk).
  4. Payment tracked. The signed certificate records, for each check, whether it was issued, signed, and mailed.
  5. Posted after the meeting. The signed certificate is added to this page and kept in the archive.

Bank account numbers and personal payee information are redacted from posted certificates.
